Pfizer Sr Manager, Procurement in Westport, Missouri

This role manages all activities with respect to the Procurement Department for the St. Louis site of Meridian Medical Technologies, Inc., including compliance activities, managing the departmental budget while coordinating the full scope of activities associated with the guarantee of supply of materials (including negotiating agreements), and managing information systems geared to supply operational information to various departments throughout the company.

  • Ensures timely purchase of necessary components, raw materials, services and all support items for manufacturing, while leading and ensuring compliance to Corporate and Global Procurement policies, procedures and practices. Participates as required for internal and external audits.

  • Assures procurement, strategic sourcing, and supplier management processes are executed timely and effectively to drive continuous improvement in total cost, supplier performance and service levels.

  • Prepares departmental budget and monitors budget for compliance. Manages standard costing of components and support materials for company budgeting process.

  • Performs price and contract negotiations. Resolves disputes between suppliers and MMT. Plans, prioritizes, constructs and negotiates supply agreements with critical suppliers. Negotiates with suppliers on the return of any quality rejected items.

  • Serves as the single point of contact for suppliers except in situations where technical information must be exchanged.

Responsible for developing and m aintaining purchasing procedures and ensuring procedural compliance and training are effective/current.

Qualifications

Education:

A Bachelor's degree in related field is required.

MBA and/or CPSM or related certification desirable, but not required.

Experience:

8+ years procurement experience and managing outside suppliers. Supervisory/Management experience required.

Experience with MRP/ERP systems required. Experience with JDE/PRISM, Enterprise One, Ariba desirable, but not required.

Specific Skills:

Proficient with procurement tools, concepts and practices such as supplier management, total cost analysis, market analysis and corporate procedure compliance

Proven negotiation and influencing skills

Strong analytical skills

Other Requirements:

Ideal candidate has prior experience working in the Pharmaceutical and/or Manufacturing industry.

Note that these activities may not be time bound to core hours or presence at the site.

  • Individuals must at all times comply with MMT safety policies and the safety rules specific to the area in which he/she is working or visiting.

Non-Standard Work Schedule, Travel or Environment Requirements

Occasional travel to Pfizer sites and Supplier sites as business determined < 10% time.

Must be willing and able to work beyond the hours typically defined as a "regular" workday, which may or may not include weekends or holidays.
