The position requires the ability to effectively communicate highly technical information to various audiences, such as senior management, the user community, and less-experienced staff. Ensures presentations are customized to the interests of the audience. Excellent written skills required.
Specialist is recognized as a leader in the design and execution of Cerner Radiology (RadNet) and Cardiology department documentation, ordering , scheduling, and charging. Demonstrates a broad understanding of the application and technical architectures. Demonstrates expert understanding of applications development and design processes, serving as a resource to others. Demonstrates an in-depth business knowledge for this solution area and technologies for imaging that are utilized (PACs, modalities, 3 rd party systems, interface needs) future of technology and/or applications for this area. Evaluates the applicability of newly developed functionality/solutions and uses this information to influence future AIS and/or business strategy. Brings technical and/or business systems knowledge from external sources and incorporates those ideas into AIS.
Designs options and recommends solutions
Conducts application quality assurance
Aligns design with security requirements
Participates in testing (e.g. user acceptance testing, unit, system, regression, integration testing)
Integrates new applications/packages with installed base
Leads the model review process
Leads deployment workgroups and teams
Leads standing OneChart workgroups
Conducts research and maintains extensive knowledge of Cerner’s model offering for their solution area.
Vendor management (e.g. liaison for technical support/fixes)
Collaborates in the design of file structures
Work requires strong problem-solving, analytical and communication skills because customer service and technical troubleshooting are vital parts of the job
Considering the rapid pace of new and improved technologies, an incumbent must keep skills up-to-date and in line with changing needs objectives and priorities of Ascension
Work also includes providing on-call support as necessary, and the requirement to be available 24/7 to respond to routine emergency situations and to perform deployment and support requirements
Position requires 50% travel
Bachelor's Level Degree
Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
Ten years of experience preferred
Prefer 7 years of experience with Cerner Millenium. (2 years may be substituted with another EHR solution).
Prefer experience as Rad Tech, with invasive cardiology experience.
Requires 5 years supporting (build and design) Radiology System and understanding of business.
Experience working in Acute Care setting required.
