The Principal Engineer will:
Be responsible for development, engineering, and top tier support activities that maintain and enhance the company's NetIQ Identity and Access Management solutions.
Perform platform intake of new development and engineering projects.
Work with design teams, deploy and build environments, perform integration activities aligned with program and project requests.
Assist with business plan development and serve as a trusted advisor and contributor in all aspects of platform strategy and service delivery.
Ensure a high degree of cross functional communication and participation in line with product deployment and support.
Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
Design, implement, monitor, enhance and troubleshoot systems in assigned areas.
Analyze and revise existing system logic difficulties and documentation as necessary.
Develop code and drivers to meet business needs.
Test and review system designs and code.
Provide Engineering Technical support for new or existing technologies and current operational initiatives. Interact and guide operational personnel and ensure all technical integration, changes, standards and documentation are met.
Mentor and guide the work of technical staff.
Review work plans and design/advise on improvements.
Adhere to industry specific local, state, and federal regulations, as applicable.
Know, understand and follow company policy.
Communicate with employees, customers, and suppliers in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straight-forward, and professional manner.
Perform other duties as requested by manager.
Strong knowledge/experience with NetIQ IDM and NAM in support of identity and SSO technologies, including Federation (SAML, Oauth) and reverse proxy
Strong experience/proficiency in a software development role leveraging Java
Strong knowledge of eDirectory, Active Directory, LDAP, and supporting tools (Designer, iManager, Apache Studio, Wire Shark, Fiddler, etc.)
Strong knowledge/experience in IDM/SSO integration: JDBC, MySQL, MS-SQL, Oracle, AD, eDirectory
Strong knowledge/experience with SUSE, RHEL, Windows Server
Understanding of related industry specifications and standards
Understanding of network design, network architecture, protocols and network topology
Understanding of DNS
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP and the OSI Model
Experience using ticketing and software tools to support the smooth operation integration labs
Understanding of network devices and basic network appliances
Experience with network diagramming software, such as Visio
Candidate must be able to effectively communicate in English (written & verbal)
