ST CHARLES COUNTY GOVERNMENT GOVERNMENT SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE I-COMMUNICATIONS DEPARTMENT in Saint Charles, Missouri

Receives visitors, determines nature of business, assists and/or directs to the appropriate destination. Answers calls and operates main switchboard for all County buildings, offers general information pertaining to the functions, programs or regulations of all County departments/offices, and transfers callers to appropriate stations. Listens to voice mail and routes messages. Receives and directs customer complaints to the appropriate department in a diplomatic and professional manner. Maintains a system to aid visitors and callers with non-county functions when they are looking for assistance. Uses computer system and ShoreTel to locate county employees, retrieve directory information, and transfer calls. Identifies phone system errors and/or operating problems and resolves or reports to supervisor. Analyzes calling patterns and reports that may identify network problems. Provides first response to security problems in Administration Building lobby with the use of camera system and duress alarm. Handles reimbursements for lost funds in vending machine. Balances vending money and keeps log of money received from vending company. Uses computer to look-up and update various records. Performs other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: Graduation from a general or technical high school or equivalent, with one year clerical experience preferably in operating a switchboard or in customer service. Requires excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered. **Must be available to work Monday - Friday 12:30 - 5p.m. with the flexibility of rotating with morning shift from 8 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.** *Requires successful completion of computerized clerical testing with a net 4200 KSPH in Data Entry and minimum score of 80% in Customer Service. *Please call 636-949-7320 to schedule required testing.*
