DescriptionGENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: Oversee all aspects of Securepak Distribution Center, as well as be acting Warehouse Manager in the Warehouse Manager's absence.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Ensure that the warehouse is a safe, clean, and organized operation at all times.Direct the daily activities of each report in order to maximize efficiency, meet the daily requirements of receiving, shipping, and inventory management.Ensure that all required performance evaluations for all direct and indirect reports are completed in a timely manner.Communicate expectations to all direct reports, and monitor those expectations versus actual performance. Employees should be provided feedback on a weekly basis.Motivate employees to perform job functions, as well as meet departmental and organizational goals.Review processes for receiving and implement procedures and controls to ensure all items received in the warehouse are properly verified and documented within established timelines.Review warehouse processes related to shipping. Implement appropriate procedures/controls to ensure orders are properly picked (FEFO/FIFO basis), scanned, labeled, and shipped within the program timeline.Monitor and control warehouse regular, overtime, and temporary labor costs.Oversee the administration of the time keeping system.Ensure required equipment and supplies are purchased for all warehouse activities.Maintain and ensure all employees follow the policies and procedures outlined in the Keefe Best Business Practices Guide.Complete miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned by Warehouse Manager.Open and close facility as directed.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:This position has supervisory and non-supervisory direct reports including the following departments: Shipping, Receiving, Returns, Inventory, Order Picking, and Office Personnel.Minimum RequirementsEDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree (B.A) from four-year College or university, or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will often be required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, talk and hear. The employee will occasionally be required to climb, stoop and kneel. The employee will often be required to lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
