Develop materials and train Financial Counseling Center (FCC) staff members and provide quality assurance oversight to FCC staff. Training will include financial counseling topics including eligibility verification and quality interview techniques. Ensure FCC statistics, reports, data, policies and procedures are current. Train new FCC staff as well as current staff in any applicable computer program i.e. FAMIS or other State of Missouri software and work with Patient Access Training and Quality Specialist on training in patient access registration and eligibility modules. Monitor quality, customer service and productivity and assist the Manager/Supervisor with process improvement initiatives. Work to achieve TMC’s strategic goals of quality customer service. Act as a liaison between FCC end users and information services technical staff regarding problem resolutions and project completion. Provide FCC education to TMC stakeholders including Health/Medical Home, Social Workers, Behavioral Health, et al.

Required Skills

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Five years experience in training front line health care staff/social service staff in areas of financial eligibility for programs available at the state and or federal level for healthcare and social services.

  • Experience in working with front line healthcare/social service staff in the areas of processes, use of applicable tools including software and customer service standards.

  • Demonstrates ability to collaborate with healthcare and social service stakeholders.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Independent thinking, ability to handle sensitive information with discretion, attention to detail, ability to handle multi-tasking and change in priorities.

  • Knowledge and efficiency in software applications. Working knowledge in Microsoft Office (Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint). Willing to become familiar with other software programs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare or education.
