The Scrum Master will:
Provide proactive leadership, collaboration, facilitation, and coaching skills supporting the development and delivery of our e-underwriting application for life insurance industry clients.
As an agile expert, the Scrum Master will be responsible for driving project execution, removing impediments, promoting transparency, and improving delivery effectiveness.
Facilitate typical Scrum ceremonies, provide team and project leadership, support other workflow approaches (e.g. Kanban), and help mature the agile delivery process for product and client delivery teams.
Be a proactive leader and problem solver for our product and delivery teams.
Coach the development team and stakeholders on how to use Agile/Scrum/(some Kanban) practices.
Ensure the team(s) has the right resources and plans to meet client and product delivery targets.
Act as Scrum master for 1-3 agile teams with a focus on guiding the teams towards project/release goals while also improving the way they work.
Facilitate release/increment planning, sprint planning, daily stand-up, retrospective and sprint reviews/demos.
Assist (where applicable) the product owner with keeping the backlog groomed.
Ensure cross-team coordination.
Reach outside of the team for impediment removal.
Maintain relevant metrics that help the team see how they are doing and help improve delivery.
Ensure that our ways of working are consistent and optimized across the teams.
Partner with program/project managers to ensure product delivery and client delivery are coordinated and delivered with appropriate prioritization.
Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
Perform other duties as assigned.
At least 10 years of IT project and service delivery experience
At least 3 years of experience as a Scrum Master
Strong experience with some/all of the following: Lean and Agile principles, DevOps, Continuous Delivery, and Scaled Agile Framework
Strong experience with leading Change Initiatives and gaining business partnership and commitment
Strong project management skills
Strong understanding of broad business and finance related knowledge
Ability to travel internationally up to 5%
Candidate must be able to effectively communicate in English (written & verbal)
