Humana is seeking a Learning Consultant who will be responsible for the following:

As a Learning Consultant you will: build organizational capability to achieve business strategies by enhancing the organizations effectiveness and performance. You will educate and train providers and provider staff on Medicare Risk Adjustment documentation requirements, ICD-10 coding requirements, HEDIS, and Medicare Quality Star measurements.

+ Act as a liaison between Humana and contracted providers to facilitate and maintain a "team" approach and long-term positive working relationships. + Engage Business Partners and associates and coach performance. + Consult with internal business partners to match organizational needs with the appropriate solutions; + Assess learning needs, design, develop curriculum and deliver learning interventions/workshops for Providers. + Select appropriate media for delivery to include online tools or content and other blended learning solutions. + Review and analyze audit documents and data to identify what can be used to evidence meeting operational standards. + Coordinate and evaluate current status of provider education and prioritize educational activity based on analysis of value proposition. + Partner with other Directors of Market Operations to establish best practices and strong working relationships with internal Humana associates. + Educate Physician and office staff on accurate medical documentation and ICD-10 coding guidelines + Utilize specialized project management methods to define the scope, logistics and documentation methods needed for various special projects. + Analyze financial and operational data using various modeling tools for Medicare Risk Adjustment and Quality Initiatives. + Create and utilize actionable tools, reports and analyses to support Medical Documentation Improvement activities. + Participate in workgroups and quarterly meetings with Corporate MRA education department + Assist the Quality Management Department with HEDIS initiatives + Must attend approved Humana course to offer AAPC CEU's + Assist with the MRA review process when necessary

Role Essentials

o AAPC Certified Professional Coder with high degree of competency in this area <?xml:namespace prefix = "o" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> o Bachelor’s Degree or more than 5 years of equivalent experience o High school diploma or equivalent required o Prior coding and educator experience, preferably in a medical office environment o Computer literate (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel , Webex) o Extensive teaching and instructing experience o Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written o Extensive local and overnight travel, must have reliable transportation and valid driver’s license o Demonstrated presentation and facilitation skills o ICD-10 and CPC coding experience

Role Desirables

  • Knowledge of Humana’s internal policies, procedures and systems
  • Knowledge of MRA and HCC coding
  • CPC-I or willing to earn CPC-I credential through AAPC within 90 days of hire
  • Must be professional in appearance, speech and conduct
